What is a

Developmental Educator (DE)

Early Interventionists are qualified educators working within early childhood settings. They collaborate with families and key adults in a child’s life to understand each child’s strengths, interests, behaviour, and support needs. Early Interventionists support children aged 0–9 years who have an Early Intervention Fund Plan under the NDIS.

Using play-based approaches, they create meaningful opportunities to support development and embed therapeutic strategies into everyday routines. They build parental capacity through modelling and coaching and can provide support with behaviour management.

Early Childhood Interventionists are highly qualified and have extensive training and experience working with children with additional needs.
