Behaviour Support Practitioner (BSP)

What is a

Behaviour Support Practitioner (BSP)

Behaviour Support practitioner conducts assessments and writes “behaviour support plans”, which include a range of components such as improvements in the physical environment, communication approaches, stimulus management, and ways to teach new behaviours that are more functional or socially acceptable than some existing behaviours.

Using play-based approaches, they create meaningful opportunities to support development and embed therapeutic strategies into everyday routines. They build parental capacity through modelling and coaching and can provide support with behaviour management.

Behaviour Support Practitioners are highly qualified and have extensive training and experience working with children with behavioural needs and functions.
