What is an
Jojo Lewis
Behaviour Support practitioner conducts assessments and writes “behaviour support plans”, which include a range of components such as improvements in the physical environment, communication approaches, stimulus management, and ways to teach new behaviours that are more functional or socially acceptable than some existing behaviours.
Using play-based approaches, they create meaningful opportunities to support development and embed therapeutic strategies into everyday routines. They build parental capacity through modelling and coaching and can provide support with behaviour management.
Early Childhood Interventionists are highly qualified and have extensive training and experience working with children with additional needs.

Supporting Families
Behaviour Support Practitioners work alongside families to strengthen their capacity and confidence in supporting their child with disabilities through:
In-home support with strategies and ideas to help their child learn in everyday routines.
Build family confidence by encouraging families so they feel capable and proud of their efforts.
Share information across sectors, explain services, supports, and where to get help.
Works together to listen to what families want and plan around their goals in a culturally respectful manner.
Offers emotional support by being there to listen, reassure, and connect with others.
